The Miilusaari island is located in the middle of beautiful riverside nature. Miilusaari and its environment hosted an active industrial village in the early 20th century. The present buildings primarily date from that era. You can still sense the charm of that era on Miilusaari and its surroundings. The buildings have served tourism and recreational purposes, and the area has been developed for these uses. The land use plan for the real estate contains six block areas of buildings serving tourism purposes. The land use plan provides an opportunity for considerable additional construction for tourism purposes.

Buildings

The main building used to be the dwelling of the mill manager. The interior of the main building has been renovated with great respect for the old atmosphere, not forgetting modern requirements. The main building is an excellent venue for various events and celebrations. The magnificent dining room with a view of the river crowns the prestigious entity. In addition to the main building, there are four other separate accommodation buildings on the island. Of these, the Kulmatalo building is located in the immediate vicinity of the main building and provides additional accommodation for the main building. Punainen talo and Tehdas buildings have two separate apartments each. Metsämökki cottage contains one guest apartment. Tehdas (Mill) is the most special of the accommodation buildings; its brick chimney stack is still standing, reflecting the industrial history of the island. There are two riverside saunas on the island, one in the immediate vicinity of the main building and one serving the accommodation buildings on the other side of the island.

Outside the island lies the Yläpytinki building with three accommodation apartments. The Tallimökki cottage next to Yläpytinki has an apartment with two bedrooms. Yläpytinki and Tallimökki are served by a separate sauna building with stylish facilities for relaxed sauna enjoyment. Yläpytinki and Tallimökki have not been used for accommodation purposes due to odour problems in the buildings. There is no certainty of the cause of the odour problems.

All the buildings were renovated in 1987. Two apartments were built in the Tehdas building in 2000. Other repairs and refurbishments have been carried out regularly. The buildings are fully furnished, and the furnishings are included in the sale.

Sceneries and natural environment on Miilusaari

Miilusaari is an island of approx. 25 hectares in the river between lakes Immasenjärvi and Tirvanjärvi. The island is surrounded by a beautiful river nature, where the tree stand has been managed moderately, respecting recreational values. The river contains several charming rapids that can be admired from two wooden walk bridges. There is a nature path in the unbuilt part of the island. In addition to the island, the real estate also contains the opposite banks of the river. For this reason, the scenery is completely in the same ownership.

Miilusaari houses a private tennis court, the surfacing of which has been refurbished some years ago.

Technical information

Water supply and sewage for the buildings on Miilusaari are arranged by six interfaces to the local Väliväylä water supply co-operative. All buildings have electricity, and the main building is fitted with an optical fibre. The buildings are heated with electricity. The television antenna for the island is located on the mill’s smoke stack, and cables have been drawn to the various buildings from there. The accommodation apartments have a telelock system by which the guests can open the front door by calling the agreed number (no key required).

Further details are available from the real estate agent.
